It's sowing season.

It's sowing season.It's sowing season.It's sowing season.

It's sowing season.

It's sowing season.It's sowing season.It's sowing season.

The Lincoln Botanical Garden advocates and organizes for the creation of a year-round plant conservatory and educational botanical garden in Lincoln, Nebraska.

We're still growing.

Through careful tending and thoughtful planning, the Lincoln Botanical Garden is closer than ever to setting down roots in the Capitol City. What began as a desire to cultivate our community’s appreciation for the horticultural arts, has blossomed into an actionable plan for development.

We’re collaborating with community partners and government agencies to bring this vision to reality. Over the past four years, fundraising has continued to flourish and the project has been validated by a business plan and impact study produced by the Bureau of Business Research at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. For guidance and planning, the Lincoln Botanical Garden team has been in close contact with the Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department, meeting with the staff on a monthly basis to ensure proper planning is guiding this endeavor.

While we're excited about how far we've come, we know that it will take your support to bring this amazing project to life.

See what the future holds for Lincoln's botanical community.

Community Enhancement

The project will include a plant conservatory and botanical garden, providing a world-class addition to stand with the exceptional gardens already serving the Capitol City.  Additionally, the Lincoln Botanical Garden will also enhance and revitalize the use of a historic Lincoln park. The property will be privately endowed and maintained, but remain in partnership with the Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department, making it both a public and private space. The space will be available for events, such as weddings, concerts, and other community gatherings.

Educational Opportunities

The educational component of the Lincoln Botanical Garden, with both unique classroom space and outdoor activities, has always been integral to its design and mission. Lincoln's public schools, university students, garden groups, adults and children can participate in structured and informal learning opportunities while having access to a unique classroom environment.

Economic Appeal

In 2021 the University of Nebraska's Bureau of Business Research prepared a business plan and economic impact study showing the Lincoln Botanical Garden can expect and estimated 70,000 annual visitors from around the state and country.  This translates to a positive impact $2.4 million dollars per year for Lincoln's economy.
